Guardtech Group clinch SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards double triumph

Haverhill-based cleanroom construction specialists bag Business Innovation and Family Business of the Year gongs
THE GUARDTECH GROUP clinched TWO awards at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards last week.
The Haverhill-based contamination control experts were handed the Family Business of the Year prize as well as the Business Innovation gong for their groundbreaking work with Cleancube Mobile Cleanrooms – their multi-award-winning shipping container facility business.
The Group, who recently opened a second large-scale manufacturing facility for Cleancube in Thetford, Norfolk to supplement their existing suite in Brandon, Suffolk, were awarded the double triumph at a glitzy event at the Delta Marriott Hotel in Huntingdon.
Owner Ray Wheeler accepted the awards alongside son and Commercial Director Mark Wheeler, as well as long-time family friend and Projects Director Conor Barwise.
The successes mark another huge year of growth for the Guardtech Group, who are set to achieve another record turnover for the past 12 months.

Mark Wheeler highlighted the family spirit that runs throughout the company as a key tenet for their accomplishments and paid tribute to the tireless efforts of every member of the wider Group in helping them claim another two awards for their now overflowing trophy cabinet.
“We’re running out of space on those shelves, that’s for sure,” he said. “It’s wonderful to be recognised for innovation, as being at the forefront of new ideas and advancements in cleanroom technology is a huge part of what we do.
“But to win the family award is equally special. It’s not just about my father, Conor and I – we have so many friends of the business now working with us and it has helped us to forge the strongest of bonds.
“Everyone looks after each other and we have engendered a culture of care and responsibility that underpins all the great work we do. We’re immensely proud of everyone who continues to contribute to our ongoing success.”

The Guardtech Group are now providing their Cleancube container facilities to NHS Trusts for Aseptic Pharmacies, speeding up the provision for manufacturing life-saving cancer drugs.
Wheeler is particularly proud of this latest development, which was recognised by the judges of the Business Innovation Award.
“We’ve put a load of time and effort into refining new Cleancube solutions that deliver an ideal platform for these NHS Trusts to meet the requirements of Annex 1 in a rapid, plug-and-play cleanroom that performs as well as any traditional build, yet can be manufactured and installed in a fraction of the time, with far, far less disruption to their everyday working practices.
“I urge anyone with a need for an expedited, world-class cleanroom solution to get in touch and see what we can do to support them.” For more on the Guardtech Group, visit www.guardtechgroup.com, call 0330 113 0303 or email sales@guardtech.com.
